Why The Waterline?

LEARN MORE

The sport of swimming is a combination of technique, training, mental toughness, and team bonding. In the course of a workout schedule, it is hard for a coaching staff to cover all of these areas in the allotted time given for workouts.

Most coaches are often asked by parents if private lessons will help their swimmer improve. The answer is yes, but how much is actually retained a day, a week, or a month later? I have started the concept of video analysis and lessons so that the swimmer will have long-term access to their lesson. The swimmer can return to their lesson at any point in time and review exactly what was taught in the lesson. In contrast, a traditional lesson is remembered only a short time and then parts are forgotten. I feel the video analysis and lesson provide a tool for the swimmer to refer to often.
